On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, from 4 – 5 pm, Rutgers School of Law–Newark will host a program titled “U.S. Patent and Trademark Office: Proposed Adoption of New USPTO Ethics Rules.” The program will be presented by the Intellectual Property Section of the Rutgers Community Law Clinic and the Rutgers Institute for Professional Education.
William R. Covey, USPTO Deputy General Counsel and Director of the Office of Enrollment and Discipline, will discuss the newly–proposed Rules of Professional Conduct for practitioners before the USPTO. The program will cover the proposed rules, the history and development of professional conduct rules for USPTO practitioners, and the current Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comments and input on the proposed rules.
Pre-registration is required at https://ipe.rutgers.edu/. The program will provide 1.0 ethics hours CLE credit (NJ, NY and PA). The registration fee is $25 for those seeking CLE credits and free for attendees not seeking CLE credits.
