Dear Fellow Alumna/us:
Last year a group of Minority Student Program (“MSP”) alumni formed the MSP Legacy Alumni Campaign Committee to reconnect and re-engage MSP alumni with the MSP and the Law School. This Committee now reaches out to you to advance these goals. The Committee is planning a MSP symposium, a speaker series, various alumni receptions, and other events to connect alumni with current students. The continuing success of the MSP will depend in large part on the support and involvement of graduates like us, and we hope you will join us in this effort.
The Committee has also undertaken a concerted effort to raise money to ensure that even greater opportunities than those we were afforded can be provided to current and future generations of MSP students. While we understand that these are challenging economic times for all of us, now, more than ever, the MSP needs your financial support for its continued success. That is why we hope you will join the MSP Legacy Alumni Campaign and we ask you to make a significant gift or pledge to support the Minority Student Program Alumni Endowment Fund.
Gifts to the Minority Student Program Alumni Endowment Fund will be used for the most pressing needs of the program, including scholarships, summer internship stipends, and academic support. To ensure that the Campaign gets off to a great start, the Committee listed on the right has already made generous gifts and/or multi-year pledges to the Campaign, totaling nearly $75,000. Won’t you join us in making a 100% tax deductible gift or pledge in honor of the program that helped shape your career? Any amount is certain to make a difference for future MSP students who will benefit from the many opportunities that the program can provide.
Click here for a gift and pledge form. Pledges can be made over five years. There are many ways you can give, and in these difficult times a great option might be a gift of stock or a gift through your will. For more information on these and other giving options, or questions about the Campaign, please contact Ava Majlesi from the Rutgers School of Law–Newark development office at 973-353-3085 or email@example.com.
With dramatic reductions in New Jersey state funding available to the university, the MSP relies on the annual contributions of alumni. Please join the MSP Legacy Alumni Campaign Committee in enhancing the MSP for future generations of students.
