Cynthia A. Blum

Professor Blum joined the School of Law–Newark faculty in the fall of 1982. She is a 1976 magna cum laude graduate of the Harvard Law School, where she served as an editor of the Law Review. Prior to joining the Rutgers faculty, she practiced with Sidley & Austin in Chicago, and with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York. Her specialty is international taxation. Her recent articles include “Rethinking Tax Compliance of Unauthorized Workers After Immigration Reform” in the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal (2007); “The Flat Tax: A Panacea for Privacy Concerns?” in the American University Law Review (2005); and “Sharing Bank Deposit Information with Other Countries: Should Tax Compliance or Privacy Claims Prevail?” in the Florida Tax Review (2004).

Professor Blum is the co-director of the Federal Tax Law Clinic, which she helped to establish in 1995.
