New Developments in the U.S. and Internationally on Addressing Domestic Violence to Be Examined at March 25 Symposium
Practitioners, legal scholars, and advocates will discuss changing perceptions and new strategies for addressing domestic violence at the 2011 Women’s Rights Law Reporter symposium, to be held at Rutgers School of Law–Newark on Friday, March 25, 2011. The student-run Women’s Rights Law Reporter is the oldest legal periodical in the U.S. focusing exclusively on the field of women’s rights law.
Among the topics to be covered are: ways in which innovative, holistic treatment of domestic violence cases are changing the legal and prosecutorial landscape; legal and advocacy work on domestic violence issues on behalf of historically under-represented communities; and an international survey of law addressing domestic violence.
The program is co-hosted by the Rutgers Institute for Professional Education. Pre-registration is required. The program is free for those not seeking Continuing Legal Education credit; there is a $150 fee for those seeking CLE credit – 6.0 credit hours (NJ, NY) and 5.0 credit hours (PA).
